It is a lazy cold outside Saturday night; you are wrapped up in big cosy blanket on the sofa. The fire hisses and crackles as the red and orange flames lick the logs. You glance outside and see the frost starting to form on the grass. You grab the edge of the blanket and feel the soft fluffy sides between your fingers as you pull it up under your chin just as you hear the howling of the wind.
This is not a night to be outside; this is a night to be exactly where you are watching one of your favourite movies. You start to remember the party last night, all your friends over for an amazing dinner you cooked, well slaved over for a better idea of what went into it but it was worth it, to see the expressions of happiness and contentment on your friends faces as they devoured the starters and the main course. Best of all was the sitting down afterwards a cup of coffee being served with a generous slice of a Lemon Cheesecake and delicious soft and fluffy whipped cream. How you all laughed and joked, it was a very memorable night, especially the dessert.
The memories stir the taste buds and your mouth begins to water as you think of taking a forkful of cake and dropping it into your mouth, mmmm heaven. Warm and toasty as you are you can definitely not resist the lure of the sharp Lemon flavour encapsulated in a soft creamy topping over a crunchy and delicious biscuit base. You now have no choice but to leave you cosy spot on the sofa to go to the fridge and get that last slice. The slight chill as you open the fridge door sends a shiver up your arm as you reach inside to find that slice you were saving.
As you take it from the fridge, a guilty smile crosses your lips, you scuttle back to the sofa plate in one hand and fork being held in your mouth as you pull the blanket back up over you. Once you are settled and cosy again, you balance the plate on your knees as your fork is pushed in and a generous scoop is lifted towards your mouth. You pause before you place it in, as your mouth explodes with flavour.
You ask yourself the question what made the night so good, could it really have been the Lemon Cheesecake.
