Selling On Ebay – Do You Need To Open An eBay Paypal Account?

Have you ever asked yourself, should I use Paypal to accept payment on eBay?

If you’ve ever looked at a listing on eBay, chances are that the seller is using Paypal as one of it’s methods of payment. So should you considering opening an account as well so that you can sell using this method?

Paypal is one of the most popular methods of payment on eBay today. Probably because it is so easy to set up and it allows buyers to pay each other securely online. The buyer feels safe because they are not giving their credit card or bank details directly to the seller, and the seller gets the payment immediately.

It’s very easy to set up an account. If you only plan on listing a few things, then it’s probably better to just set up a Personal Account for now, you can always upgrade to the Business Account at a later stage if you find your eBay business is increasing.

Once your account is set up, you’ll need to get verified otherwise you’ll be limited to how much money you can send or withdraw from them. It also makes things a lot harder if you are trying to list your item to be sold internationally. Getting Verified is a simple process, once you’ve set up your account including your bank details, Paypal will deposit a small mount of money into your account, then you need to let them know how much money they’ve put in so that they can confirm it really is your account. You’ll also need to let them know your phone number and address.

Once you are set up you just check the option on the eBay sellers page that you would like your buyer to have the option to pay you via Paypal, fill in your relevant details and you are done! Simple. Of course it also helps that eBay owns Paypal, making the whole process much much smoother.
