Guides to Make Coin Wrappers

If you are a money collector, making your own money wrappers will be very economical for you to do. In addition, by recycling paper bags, you can also take part in the ongoing green movement. You can make up to 20 coin wrappers only by using one regular-size paper grocery bag.

Wrapping all the coins you have at your home will be a good idea. You can also teach your children how to save money. You can collect it and wrap it with your own coin wrappers. The following are the steps to make your own coin wrapper.

The first thing you have to do is to open the grocery bags and lay it flat on a flat surface such as table. Shape it into a perfect rectangle. Then, start to make the measurement for each size of the coins you are going to wrap. If you would like to wrap your pennies, you can mark it and cut two 4-inch strips along the bag. Cut one of them into squares with 2¾ inches wide. Place all of them in a stack then at the top of the stack with “Pennies-.50¢.”

If you want to make a wrapper for the nickel, cut the other 4-inch strip into perfectly squares with the width of 3 inches. For dimes, you need to make the paper with the width of 3 ½ inches and for the quarters, you can cut it with the width of 3¼ inches. For each of them, you can mark the top of the stack with the correct denomination and the monetary amount.

The next thing to do is to fold each edge of the wrapper until it slightly overlaps each other by one-eighth of one inch. Apply the glue on one of the edge and press it with the other one so that they can stick each other. Set the seam you have just glued on the center by flattening the wrapper. Let it dry over before you use it to wrap.
