Double HP-MP Washing in Maplestory and How it Can Help Maplers Survive

In Maplestory, hit point (HP) washing can be a great way to increase survivability in game and mixing in Magic Point (MP) washing properly can greatly increase the effectiveness of HP washing. This is generally called double washing.

Double washing is the best way to hit point wash that is available in all versions of Maplestory. It is only for those who can afford it though as it is VERY expensive to do a lot of times. Those who do not wish to, or can not spend a lot on hitpoint washing will be better off doing normal HP washing.

There are 2 different tactics to double washing: Single level double washing and multi-level double washing. Technically, both can be done on the same level, but the explanations will look at it as if the character is doing the multi-level washing on different levels.

Single level washing is adding points to MP first (MP washing), and when resetting with the ap reset (steps 5 and 6 of the standard washing) you add the point to HP. From there, you use another ap reset to take another point out of MP and ad it to your desired stat. This best done if you have enough Int to add up to an MP gain that is more than the mp you would loose after resetting the MP. The list of steps will now look like the following:

1. Equip Int equipment just before leveling and level up (For more MP gain when leveling)

2. Put one AP into MP

3. Use AP reset to take one AP out of MP.

4. Check what your minimum MP will be and compare to current mp

5. If max mp after the reset is more than the min mp calculation go to step 6, otherwise go to step 9

6. Put the AP point into HP

7. Click OK/yes on AP reset window

8. Use AP reset to take one AP out of MP.

9. Put the AP point into desired stat

10. Click OK/yes on AP reset window

11. Repeat from step 2 if you have no more points

12. Equip your regular equipment and carry on

Note: Single level washing may not be possible in every version of Maplestory. It depends on how the ap resets are programmed.

Multi level washing is similar to single level other than it is spanned over multiple levels instead of one. This technique technically could be done with alternating the ap points added on the same level, but will be explained as if each set of points was done on alternating levels. Basically, this is HP wash one level and MP wash the next.

The general step-by-step layout would look like the following:

1. Equip Int equipment just before leveling and level up (For more MP gain when leveling)

2. Check what your minimum MP will be and compare to current mp (only if on HP washing stage)

3. Put one AP into HP/MP. Alternate between HP and MP each level (or each point you add)

4. Use AP reset to take one AP out of MP.

5. Put the AP point into desired stat

6. Click OK/yes on window

7. Repeat from step 2 if you have more points

8. Equip your regular equipment and carry on

9. When just about to level again, start from step 1 and add the stat (hp or mp) you did not add to the level (or point added) before
