Many Travel Trailers For Sale Options

Becoming an RVer doesn’t mean that you have to drive a huge motor home. They are obviously an option if you want something big. However, if you are looking for something a little more manageable, there are many different types of travel trailers for sale from which to choose.

Fifth Wheel

If you are looking for the largest living space in a pull behind option, the fifth wheel is your best choice. This model is constructed so that it has a raised forward section. This raised section gives the interior a bi-level floor plan, which gives you more space in the “living” area. The living/dining area easily converts into more sleeping space thanks to a slide out design.

The fifth wheel connects to the back of your truck, as most campers do. However, this model requires a special hitch in the bed of the truck to connect. You may need to have a medium or heavy-duty tow vehicle to pull this camper, as it may be too heavy to tow with a traditional pickup. You cannot tow this unit with an SUV.

The fifth wheel has all of the amenities of a traditional motor home. However, they tend to be cheaper to purchase.

Traditional Campers

The traditional model is arguably the most popular on the market due to the variety you can find. When you look at these travel trailers for sale, you’ll see that they come in sizes from as small as nine feet to as large as 40 feet. They can also be pulled by lightweight pickups and SUVs if you get a smaller model.

Models 17 feet or larger are considered self-contained. This means that they come complete with a kitchenette and bathroom. These medium-to-large sized units also have decent sized storage tanks for fresh and not so fresh water.

There is a great diversity in this type of unit. You can get them equipped with bunk beds, slide outs, and even multiple doors. All of them come equipped with 120v electrical hookups and air conditioning.

Pop-Ups

Probably the least expensive of all travel trailers for sale, is the pop-up or pup model. Essentially, this is one large tent with a trailer base. When not in use, you fold the sides and top down. This allows you to store the unit in a much smaller area. If you own a midsized car, small SUV, or lightweight pickup, this model is perfect for your current vehicle to pull.

These folding campers provide cooking facilities, icebox, heating, fresh and waste water tanks, sink and faucet, and bedding. They also come equipped with 120v electrical systems. Depending on the model you choose, they can sleep up to six people comfortably. Unlike other units, this style does not have an onboard bathroom.

The biggest draw back with this model is that you have to set it up and take it down. Granted, most of them now have a lift system that helps expedite this process. However, if it is raining, you still have to stand out in the rain to complete the setup.

Choosing from the many travel trailers for sale can be daunting. When you find the right one, you and your family can enjoy some quality time camping.
