Cataclysm Instance Leveling

Cataclysm Instance Leveling

Most of the people that are currently playing the latest World of Warcraft Cataclysm expansion have probably reached level 85, but if you’re not at that level already then you might be a new player, or you’re just leveling up an alt. Most people that have reached level 85 are leveling up either a Worgen or a Goblin, Worgen if you’re Alliance and Goblin if you’re Horde.

Worgens and Goblins are, Unlike the Death Knights, playable for everyone, you don’t need to have a level 55 or higher character on the realm you want to play on. This is my favorite thing about them, because Death Knights could be quite a bit annoying, and the Worgen/Goblin starting areas are really awesome. Blizzard put in a lot of work into those starting areas. If you haven’t yet created a character in World of Warcraft then I recommend a Goblin, but Worgens work fine as well if you prefer that.

When you create your character, you’ll need to do some quests in order to reach level 15-20, but don’t worry, this can easily be done within a day. When you hit around level 20 then it’s time to start doing some instances, the instances are great for getting new gear, and of course for getting some nice XP.

If you already have a level 85 then you really should buy at least one Heirloom item, these will increase your leveling speed by 10% per item, so if you got 3 heirloom items and kills a mob that usually would give you 1,000 XP, then you’ll now receive 1,300 XP. This works awesome in Instances because you’ll be killing a lot of mobs there.

If you don’t have a level 85 main then there’s no need to worry, you can still level fast without the heirlooms, and they only last up to level 60, so after that you’ll be in the same seat as the people with level 85 alts.

When you want to join a instance you only need to press the Dungeon Tool Finder and just queue up, sometimes you’ll need a specific item level in order to queue up for the instances but you will probably not have that problem until you hit level 80-81.

Press the Dungeon Tool, Choose your Role (Damage Dealer, Healer, Tank) and just join, then you’ll have to wait a bit in the queue, but this varies a lot depending on which class you play and on which server you play on, if you want a fast queue then you should pick a healer on a highly popular realm, the queues are almost instant there!
