Dr Bach and His Philosophy to Health With Bach Flowers

The Bach Flowers system of healing, works on the principle that it is our fear, our cares, our anxieties etc that open us to the invasion of illness. Thus by treating our fears, our cares, our worries and so on we not only free ourselves from our illnesses but the herbs in addition take away our fears and worries and leave us happier and better in ourselves.

Dr. Bach (Bach 1931) said in reference to his Bach Flowers:

“They cure, not by attacking the disease, but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibrations of our Higher Nature, in the presence of which, disease melts away as snow in the sunshine. There is no true healing unless there is a change in outlook, peace of mind and inner happiness.”

Dr. Bach believed that the person not the disease needed to be treated as people reacted differently to the same disease. When his own health suffered he looked for alternatives and became engrossed in homeopathy and eventually looked for his own cures based on the simplicity that health and happiness resulted form being in harmony with our own nature.

Dr. Bach wanted his Bach Flowers to be used to relieve mental distress until problems could be dealt with in the inner person and to be able to heal attitudes such as remorse or lack of confidence. What was also involved was the positive interaction and encouragement from the practitioner. A good practitioner should be able to recognise disease on the basis of certain moods and attitudes before it became a physical symptom.

Disharmony between the spiritual and mental aspects of a human being was the basis of disease and this disharmony lowered the bodies defense mechanism and allowed the disease to take hold. The Bach Flowers therefore were for the treatment of the mood and temperament of the client and not for the physical symptoms. Each client then became more themselves and their health and vitality would return.

Yours in health
