Egypt Holidays: Outlandish Proposal Ideas

There are lots of ways to propose, but many choose to do it while on Egypt holidays. Of course there are the usual ways, such as a candlelit dinner but sometimes people want to do something outlandish to make sure it’s a moment to remember. Here are some suggestions:

1. Rent a private boat to take you down the River Nile. It’s a popular tourist attraction so while in Egypt, you’d probably want to do it anyway. Usually you’d go with a tour group but to make it extra special, try investigating trips for two.

2. As you’re in Egypt, how about visiting the pyramids and popping the question from inside the ancient tombs. There are always lots of deals on late holidays available, and trips to the pyramids are often on offer.

3. On the flight over you could arrange to have the attendants make an announcement over the speakers, and have a chilled bottle of champagne ready to be wheeled out. Alternatively you could try and organise to have the question written across the in-flight entertainment.

4. Ask the hotel staff to spell out ‘will you marry me?’ in flowers on the lawn outside your hotel room window, so it’s the first thing your partner sees when she wakes up. You could also have a champagne breakfast pre-ordered to arrive shortly afterwards.

5. A romantic yet innovative way to propose when you’re on your holidays is to name a star after them. Then you can plan a romantic evening picnic in a spot where the sky is clear and it’s peaceful, such as a mountain top or hill with good views. Pop open a bottle of bubbly, hand her the certificate, point out the star and then present her with the ring.

6. If your other half likes underwater animals, you could take them to a nearby aquarium and hire divers to swim to the window holding a ‘will you marry me?’ banner. While she is reading the banner, get down on one knee and present the diamond.

7. While you’re on the beach there are several ways to pop the question; a skywriter, writing your proposal in the sand or building a sandcastle with the ring placed on the highest turret.

8. You could create a proposal message on her iPod, and don’t let her listen to it until you get on the plane. Have the ring handy!

9. A scavenger hunt throughout the landmarks of Egypt. Start your partner off with a clue and a driver, and let them see the top five attractions in the area you’re staying in while they figure out the end spot. The last clue will lead them to you, waiting with the ring in hand.
