In this article I’m going to cover farming gold for world of warcraft. One of my biggest goals was to get a flying mount which cost a daunting amount. I eventually made it happen but it took a lot of hard work through the use of farming. Listed below are the top 3 spots I’ve seen success farming in.
1. Western Plaguelands
There are a few places that you can farm in this area. One such is Felstone field which can be found at (36,57). If you’re looking to farm for Runecloth, then this is great place to go. The mobs in Felstone field drop a ton of runecloth and also have a really fast respawn rate which means you’ll be constantly killing.
Hearthglen which is located at (45,16) is another solid area in the Western Plaguelands. The mobs here (Sentinels and Paladins) are pretty easy to kill since they are 53-56 elites. They too have a pretty solid drop rate for Runecloth but also drop blue and green items as well.
2. Winterspring
Winterspring also has multiple areas for solid farming. In the spot (57,50) there is a cave where you can farm a ton of mobs. The monsters here are relatively easy to kill since they’re 56-58 elites. The reason I suggest farming this area is because mobs such as Cobalt Magweavers and Scalebanes tend to drop Mature Blue Dragon Sinew. This is huge because they can be sold for several hundred gold at the Auction House.
Frostwhisper gorge is a solid place to farm for Frostmaul Giants. They have a pretty good drop rate for a recipe for the Greater Frost Protection which can be sold for up to 50 gold. I have to warn you though that they aren’t the easiest to kill so be prepared before going in.
3. Stranglethorn Value
In Stranglethorn Vale there is spot called Crystalvein Mine at (44,45) where you can farm Ironjaw Basiliks. These guys are pretty easy to kill since they’re 43-44 mobs. Expect to collect vendor trash items. If you’re a skinner I suggest farming here because you can skim Ironjaw Basiliks for their thick and heavy leather.
Important Things To Note
Farming gold for World of Warcraft can be very lucrative but it comes at a cost. To make huge gains in gold through farming, its extremely time consuming. To successfully farm, you have to devote a huge chunk of you’re day, if not most of it. I’ve seen friends who farm for hours just to see a few pieces of gold. I got frustrated because I wanted to play the parts of the game that I loved and not do repetitive tasks all day long.
