Fortitude is a very interesting Runeword due to the fact that it can be used either in a weapon or in body armor. Some of the mods are common to both a Fortitude created in a weapon and one created in body armor, but they also have different mods depending on which one the Runeword was created in.

This Runeword is only available to Ladder Characters.

Requirements:

4 Socket Body Armor OR 4 Socket Weapons

Runes (in order): El + Sol + Dol + Lo

20% Chance To Cast Level 15 Chilling Armor when Struck

+25% Faster Cast Rate

+300% Enhanced Damage

+1 To Light Radius

12% Damage Taken Goes To Mana

All Resistances +25-30 (varies)

+200% Enhanced Defense

+ To Life (Based on Character Level)

Stats for Body Armor Only:

+15 Defense

Replenish Life +7

+5% To Maximum Lightning Resist

Damage Reduced By 7

Stats for Weapon Only:

+9 To Minimum Damage

+50 To Attack Rating

20% Deadly Strike

Hit Causes Monster To Flee 25%

20% Chance To Cast Level 15 Chilling Armor when Struck

Chilling Armor is a defensive Cold Skill from the Sorceress’ Cold Spell Skill Tree. Its main use is to provide a large defense boost and cast a retaliatory attack against ranged attackers in the form of an ice bolt. The retaliatory Ice Bolt only works against range attackers who land a successful hit; against Melee attackers, there is no retaliatory Ice Bolt, but the Defensive bonus still stands.

A Level 15 Chilling Armor gives you a whopping 115% bonus to your Defense, does a retaliatory attack causing 28-38 hit points to your ranged attackers and lasts for 248 seconds. 

The main attraction to players is the humongous boost Chilling Armor grants, and at 20% chance when receiving a hit, it would trigger quite often in the game.
