Dolichorhynchops – A Prehistoric Hunter Dolichorhynchops (pronounced Dol-ee-koh-rin-kops) was a short-necked Plesiosaur from the Late Cretaceous. Two species of this marine reptile are known, the first to be named and described (the largest species known), is called Dolichorhynchops osborni.
