The Last Oracle by James Rollins Book Review

The Last Oracle by James Rollins Book Review

Commander Gray Pierce, a Sigma Force leader, is walking across the DC Mall when a homeless man heads toward him. Thinking that the man wanted money, he gets out his wallet. Just as he was about to hand him a twenty-dollar bill, Gray noticed that the man’s hand was not empty. There was a strange looking coin in it. He was surprised because it was the first time a homeless man tried to pay him. Before Gray realized what was happening, the man collapsed in his arms. He had been shot.

It turns out that the coin is an ancient relic that can be traced back to the Greek Oracle of Delphi. Gray Pierce cannot believe what he discovers about the coin. To make matters worse, hunters are searching for the stolen artifact.

The Sigma team begins to investigate a number of incidents that do not seem at first to be related. However, as the investigation goes on it seems they all have a Delphi connection. Now the main goal is for the Sigma team to put it all together in order to prove their point.

Will the Sigma team be able to stop this bizarre plot before it destructs much of the world’s population?

James Rollins has written an excellent thriller taking the reader on one wild ride as the storyline continues from place to place. It is very obvious that much research had to be done to write this book. The reader is introduced to many interesting characters that are brought together in this novel dealing with science technology and history. The Last Oracle could be read as a stand-alone book but I would recommend that you read the first book in this series. After reading that one, I’m sure you will want to continue with the rest. The novel is fast paced and really takes off as it goes along. If you are looking for a novel that is unique, intriguing, captivating and exciting, The Last Oracle is the book for you. I highly recommend this novel.
