Perhaps you have seen or heard of the studies where they take folks while they are stuck in heavy traffic and they take their pulse? They always find that their pulse rate is way too high, their breathing too, in fact their brain waves showed signs of severe stress. So, one has to ask is the stress of traffic killing Americans, simply due to their drives to work?

Well, this should not surprise anyone, because when you put lots of people together in a small space they do change their behavior and they do exhibit psychological distress. Long-term distress is known to cause severe health problems. If for some reason this is impossible, you need to stop and find a job that does not require stressful commutes, otherwise it is liable to kill you are cost you huge medical expenses, which will cancel out that wonderful salary you think you are making. So, you ask how can you chill-out, avoid road rage or prevent stress while driving.

Well, first temperature control will do wonders for you and obviously you have tried your favorite music right? But you cannot stop there. You see, you must get that tension down to a slow trickle and to do that you must change your attitude, and put your mind somewhere else. This will take a lot of concentration at first, but as you work at it and relax, you will find yourself in a much better place.

It is time for you to deal with this challenge is a methodical and peaceful manner. You must sit back and think, try to guess what people in cars near you do for a living, where they live, what they are thinking, look for clues, they are everywhere. Play this game in your mind, it will make you more observant, take your mind of traffic and keep you alert so you don’t get hurt.
