Why Can’t We Have Canned Veggies in Candida Diet? Having Deli Meats At Lunch

Someone asked me why we are not allowed to have canned veggies in candida diet. She looked at the labels of the veggies she has at home and saw that in the ingredients it said green beans and water; nothing else. She loves canned green beans so much, that she wants to know what makes people say to not consume it.

She kind of misses her cereal, milk, and sweets, but not as much as she thought she would. She has been eating a lot less lately, though she has been cheating a little. For instance for breakfast, she makes scrambled eggs with milk. She is not sure about how to make scrambled eggs without milk as she is never been a good cook. She has also been having a banana or two each day because she is starved around lunchtime.

She said she is not doing great at this diet. Dinner time is easy enough, and breakfast has been OK with all the eggs, but she is having a hard time with lunch. She used to always have a sandwich, so she needs to think of something else. She wonders if all deli meats, including the fresh meats, are not great for the lunch.

If you asked what was wrong with canned food, well, it is “dead food” for one thing. It is lacking one vital thing, and that is enzymes! We are looking for enzymes, which is why we eat veggies to begin with, right? I would stay as far away from canned and/or processed food as possible and just eat food in its whole form.

As far as scrambled eggs go, I use a little safflower oil in mine instead of milk. Since the milk isn’t there to sweeten the eggs, they take a little to get used to. I like to saute a little onion and have them in my eggs which help to make them more appealing as well.

I have only found one brand of deli meats by “Applegate Farms” that makes deli/lunch meat without adding sugar and it is pretty expensive. Be careful with meats that are sliced right there in the store, since they usually slice the cheese and other meats on the same cutting machine.
