Take note that you’ve given strong points as your input to the meeting and that the company has taken high-value reminders from you. However, this is not the end of it. Your boss may agree to grant you a pay raise immediately. If this does not happen according to plan, then you might have to do more in order to convince your boss of the salary raise you deserve.

1. Don’t give up. First rule up is not to quit. Negotiations on salary increases are not for the faint-hearted, and you have to find it in you to be brave and confident. Remember, you are your best arbiter!
2. Find out what you need to do. If you’re told that your request can’t be granted and you won’t be getting a raise, ask what it is you need to do in order to earn one. This will show them just how persistent and determined you are.
3. Do negotiate! Never accept something at a moment’s notice. Weigh matters carefully before you agree or disagree. When you are so willing to settle immediately and for so much less, then you lose your bargaining power.
4. Consider your other offers. When you are negotiating for a salary increase, expect that your boss will give you offers other than what you originally asked for. Usually, it would be lower in price. After you’ve considered the offer and it does not sit well with you, be calm and explain why.
